Daniel Midgley is a linguist, author, and science communicator. He is a presenter on the Because Language podcast, along with co-presenters Ben Ainslie and Hedvig Skirgård.
He insists that linguists do not simply go around learning languages; Daniel has studied Spanish, French, Russian, and a bit of Japanese. He would like to be more fluent in any of them. He also uses Java and Perl.
Daniel has taught linguistics at the University of Western Australia and Edith Cowan University. He presented the talk podcast, which aired on RTRFM 92.1, a community radio station in Perth, Australia.
